the highlights of 2025

Absolutely amazing, the highlights of 2025, and what does 2026 bring…

Posted on December 19, 2025December 19, 2025 By Jeroen Scheper

It is the time of the year again when we get closer to the Holidays and then take the time to reflect and look back at the highlights of 2025, and again, what a year it has been. I kicked the year off with a lunch with Daniel Laskewitz in Zwolle, and talked for a long time about technology and my possible first speaking event. Then a couple of other great people like Megan Walker, Richard Vonk, Michelle Wong, and Maaike Borgman helped making 2025 a year never to forget. Thank you all!

First speaking event

It was somewhere in March, if I remember well, that Michelle Wong called me, how about doing your first speaking event in April during the 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝟯𝟲𝟱 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱-𝗡𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 at AC Plus Automatisering?! Nervous as hell, but what an experience it was. I did do a session about using AI Builder Prediction model to prioritize sales based on the local temperatures of where clients are based.

Microsoft MVP

One of the highlights of 2025 for sure was being awarded the Microsoft Power Apps MVP. Thank you once again, Megan Walker, for nominating me and all your help! I remember I was having breakfast on the second day of the Summer Holiday with my family when I received the final email, “you have been accepted by the MVP Program “😍. Sharing knowledge is what I like to do, and I will keep on sharing knowledge! Helping others with their journey is something you can never underestimate!

Nexus Digital Horizon

With Richard Vonk, I founded Nexus Digital Horizon, and the first project we worked on was developing an app. The app is called My Organisation Simplified, and it helps customers to create real-time insights into the inner workings of their organisation. Hopefully, the app will be fully approved soon by Microsoft, so it will become available on Microsoft AppSource. Looking forward to this adventure Richard Vonk!

Personal Blog: jscheper.com

Finally, my personal blog, where I try to share knowledge with the community. When drafting this article, I also read the one from last year again to see what my “objectives” were. Speaking was one of them, which I really enjoyed, so hopefully, more of these in 2026. Or perhaps joining a podcast, who knows😎 The other thing that I would like to write more about is Agents, I have the feeling that I can’t get around it anymore. So when looking at 2026, I do want to get to know more about:

  • Agents
  • MCP (Model Context Protocol)

Looking at the blogs I have written in 2025, the following ones had the most interest from you according to the statistics:

1. The new Visual Hierarchy experience

This was a feature that is the replacement of the hierarchy control that was deprecated a while back. The new feature does give you more control and flexibility to design these hierarchies yourself.

2. Manage access of views via security roles

When this was initially launched, this sounded promising. It would allow you to control the system views by security roles. When testing this feature, it was initially working slightly differently than you would expect.

3. Finally, there, hide a choice column value, or not?

I believe lots of people did look forward to something like this for ages. This was the main reason to go for entities/tables instead of the choice columns, since maintaining these was always a hassle.

4. Download your uploaded document templates now

A nice discovery it was at the time. Sometimes you navigate through forms and all of a sudden you see a button or something else that makes you think, “this was not there the last time I was here.” Being now able to download the document template instead of storing these in your own repository was a game-changer.

5. Enabling column reordering in views in Power Apps Grid Control

A topic I wrote more about last year, the Power Apps Grid Control. This control allows you to improve the user experience and enhance the design of your grids.

Reflecting back on 2024, Hello World and 2025

Posted on December 16, 2024December 13, 2024

2024…. what a year it was! It is almost coming to an end but it is time to reflect since the Holidays are coming close. Personally, 2024 started with the 90-Day Mentoring Challenge from Mark and Meg Smith. What a great start to the year besides the fact that I…
