Enable security roles on templates is now available

Posted on April 11, 2025April 11, 2025 By Jeroen Scheper

We probably all have seen this occasionally, you are working in an area on the platform that you know, and you all of a sudden see a new button or something else that you are pretty sure was not there before. This week I spotted a new button to enable security roles on templates. I thought when founding this, If this could do what the name would suggest, this would be a great user experience improvement because it would limit the number of templates, Word or Excel, that you would see.

When you access the template view and select one template, multiselect is not supported at this stage, you do have the option to Enable Security Roles.

By default, all of the security roles are selected, and now you can make changes to them so you make only those templates available for that particular security role.

The enable security roles on templates is a great feature, I just wish that you could do a multiselect of the templates since that would save quite some time from a maintenance perspective.
