The four setup posts are done. Johan has a brain, a memory, and a voice. Now comes the part that actually matters the most if you ask me: the tournament⚽. Therefore the time has come, AI Agent Johan his first prediction in this post.
The Netherlands kick off their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Japan coming Saturday the 13th. Before a single ball is kicked, I sat down with AI Agent Johan and asked him the obvious question: what do you think and predict?
This blog post covers two things:
- what I had to do before Johan could predict anything useful
- what Johan actually predicts for this match.
What needed to be updated before Johan could go live
Johan’s AI Builder model was trained on historical data, but the model inputs it uses at prediction time come from the Dataverse Teams table — not the training data. That means those values need to reflect the current reality going into the tournament, not some historical average.
Before the group stage started, I manually updated the following data for every Netherlands opponent (and for the Netherlands themselves):
- Goals scored last 5 — based on their last five matches
- Goals conceded last 5 — based on their last five matches
- Win streak — current streak at time of prediction
- FIFA ranking — latest official FIFA ranking used to calculate the ranking difference (link to FIFA ranking)
Japan — what the data says
Before asking Johan, here’s what the raw numbers look like for Japan heading into this game:

The Ranking difference (Netherlands minus Japan) is in favor of the Netherlands 🐯 but most other data points are in favor of Japan so it will be curious to find out what the prediction will be.
What AI Agent Johan 🤖 predicts
I opened Copilot Studio, triggered the Predict Match topic, typed in Japan and selected Group Stage. AI Agent Johan 🤖 went to work.
My take
As a big soccer fan supporting the Netherlands obviously, I believe this will be a close match. Personally speaking I would say that the data is in favor of the Japan. Since I personally believe that the FIFA Ranking difference is weighting too much in comparison to WinStreak or Goals Scored and Goals Conceded. Therefore my prediction will be a Draw.
