This will be a clash between two big soccer nations for sure. Before I go to the AI Builder prediction model I would like to share some interesting facts:
- The first ever Netherlands-France match was played on the 10th of May in 1908 in Rotterdam
- The biggest victory from France was 4-5 on the 10th of May in 1934 with Jean Nicolas scoring a hattrick
- The biggest victory from the Netherlands was 8-1 on the 2nd of April 1923
- Last decade the Netherlands won only one game
- Last 6 matches during a tournament, the Netherlands only won 1 time
Before I go to the prediction, a couple of things to share beforehand. The whole configuration of the table, preparation of the data, and building of the custom model can be found in this blog article.
Data
The data that is being used, is a collection of all historical matches between the Netherlands and France. As mentioned in the previous article, to have the model trained properly you need to have at least 10 records for each of the combinations. I wanted to see what the impact is when you have more data, therefore I tried multiple simulations and it did become more accurate according to me. Therefore I have copied the data twenty times, this can be in favor of both teams depending on the history of course.

AI Builder Prediction Model
The data that is being used for the model is filtered to only use the data for all matches between the Netherlands and France. So no historical data is being used by the model for the matches with Poland or Austria.
AI Predicts an epic game
Now let’s find out what the AI Builder prediction model will predict for the match against France, will it be:
- Win, W, 806650000
- Draw, D, 806650001
- Lost, L, 806650002
We run the Power Automate Flow that is described in the previous blog article, with the following input:
- Opponent = France
- Where = Home
- Type = Tournament
Unfortunately for the Netherlands, but as you can see the model predicts 806650002 which is mapped to L(Lost), this means that the Netherlands will lose the game according to the AI Builder Prediction model. When you check the Likelihood it is also quite convinced about this. Luckily for us, it is a new game so hopefully this time the model won’t be right if you ask me 😎 May the best win and enjoy the game everyone.
