Exciting times, the UEFA Euro 2024 ⚽ soccer tournament started yesterday, and tomorrow the Netherlands will play their first match against Poland. This is a strong team and I am really looking forward to the game. The question is though, what will the AI Builder prediction model predict?
If you look at the history then there are some interesting facts:
- The biggest victory ever was from Poland on 10th of September 1975, 4-1
- The last 3 decades the Netherlands did win all of their games against Poland

Data
The data that is being used is all historical matches between the Netherlands and Poland. As mentioned in the previous article, to have the model trained properly you need to have at least 10 records for each of the combinations. Since that data does not always exist I have copied the data four times, this can be in favor of both teams depending on the history of course.

The data that is being used for the model is filtered to only use the data for all matches between the Netherlands and Poland.

Now to moment is there where everyone was waiting for, what the AI Builder prediction model would predict for the match against Poland, will it be:
- Win, W, 806650000
- Draw, D, 806650001
- Lost, L, 806650002
We run the Power Automate Flow that is described in the previous blog article, with the following input:
- Opponent = Poland
- Where = Away
- Type = Tournament
As you can see the model predicts 806650000, which is mapped to the W (Win), this means that the Netherlands will win the game, not super confident as you can see, but may the best win and enjoy the game everyone.
